Razanj municipality potential

Agriculture
Land under cultivation is natural resource. It takes 59.6% of territory. Agriculture, as sector, takes part in forming gross national income in Razanj municipality. Mostly are grown: corn, wheat, barley and oat.

Water potential
Surface and underground water system represents water potential. Surface water is represented by small rivers ( Great River, Razanj River, Jovanovac River, Poslon River) with rising streams. In summertime they often dry up, which is limiting factor for agricultural production. These rivers empty into Southern Morava, which flows through south-western part of this territory for 20 kilometers.  In river basins there are numerous parts under erosion. Erosion is weak on mild green terrains and excessive in ravines.
This municipality is rich with underground water. Level of these waters is high( up to 0.2m in some places).
Water resources aren’t enough for rational, high- quality and long-term supplying of population and agriculture. Some wells and parts of rivers, however, can be used for fish pond and irrigation systems and as well for packing healthy mountain spring water with checking of quality.

Mineral wealth
Here we have reserves of quartz, feldspar, graphite and antimony.

Infrastructure
Roads- On Razanj municipality territory there are 108km of roads (2005 data), of it 91km are modern roads, 33km are regional roads and 75km are local roads. Trough this territory flows Sothern Morava river for 20km but it can’t be used for water traffic. PTT traffic- there are 4 post offices on this territory and 2568 telephone users. Internet usage is still very low. Water-supplying and sewerage system- This is one the main problems here. Many settlements don’t have basic and town of Razanj doesn’t have complete sewerage system. Pore capacity and basins for water accumulation and old pipeline make problem with water-supplying.
